Guttorm Eriksson Hudfat was a knight in the kings army and the governor of a section of Søndre (south)  Gudbrandsdalen from about 1329 - 1347, Oppland, Norway.  "Guttorm, along with a number of other great men, must have participated in the uprising of nobles against King Magnus Eiriksen in 1333.  Guttorm apparently supported the king and the rebels submitted to King Magnus VII's authority in 1333. The uprising in 1333 is perhaps the reason why he first got knighted for his battle. He is specifically called a knight in 1347-48. On 21 Juy 1336 Magnus was crowned king of both Norway and Sweden in Stockholm.  He reigned as King of Norway from 1319-1355.

Elin Olavsdatter had some property of her own.  A document exist from 23 February 1317 listing her as having a shared estate of her father between herself and her sister.   Elin Olafsdatter gets the estate in Norway and her sister gets the estate in Sweden.   The following document states that six men were assigned to guard the "succession at Thufn (Thom)  between Hallvard Olafsson and Gudthorm Eiriksson on his wife Elin olafsdatter's behalf where by the Earth (Real) estate in Norway and Sweden, which had accrued to the two siblings in paternal succession, was divided between them."  [translation by Google]
