From the baptism records of Magarethe and Johanne the father,
Hans Pedersen, seems to have originated in Gustumoen,
Stor-Elvdal, in Northern Hedmark. This is 115
kilometers almost due north of Hamar.
1785, May 16 - Mille is baptised in Elvedalen, father is Hans Pedersen and Marthe Jonsdatter. The name Magrethe is sticken through and Mille is written to the left. "Pign" is a term used to identify a single girl. [Nor. Nat. Archives, Amodt 1780-1810, Hedmark, bapt. ]
1789, March 22 - Baptism of Magrethe daughter of Hans Pedersen of Güstumoen(that is as close as I can read it and which is in Stor Elvdal, Hedmarken) and Marthe Jonsdatter. Witness seem to be Günnil Güsedatter of Satre, Dorthe Oldsdatter, Gunnil Knudsen of Strand, Halvor Nielsen Satre and Anders Helgesen. Hedmark, Åmodt parish. [Norway Baptism Records, 1634-1927. Family Search.org.] [National Archives of Norway, baptisms, Amodt parish, 1789]
1792, May 28- Pernille Pedersdatter is baptised in
Eadem Die, Elvadalen., Hedmark. Her parents are listed as
Hans Pedersen (unreadable farm) and Marthe Joensdatter. This
record is not sequential and seems to be listed later than
others. [National Archives of Norway, baptisms, Amodt
parish, 1792]
1795, April 6th. Elvedalen, Hedmark, Norway. Johanne is the daughter of Hans Pedersen of Gustumoen (that is as close as I can read it and which is in Stor Elvdal, Hedmarken about 115 km north of Hamar) and Marthe Joensdatter of (perhaps) Faberg. [Amodt 1780-1810, Hedmark, Nor. Nat. Archives]
1801 - Census records, Hedmark, Åmodt
parish, Hovde farm. They are living in one of three building
on the farmstead. This is the only Magrethe Hansdater in all of
Hedmark so I feel pretty confident of the family. The age also
makes Magrethe born in 1789. [Nor. Archives Census]
