Abt 1586 England- Thomas Sherwood is Christened.

The records that are used to define this family are very confusing and have great discrepencies. The LDS files which are used by the bulk of the researchers list the Christening date before he was born, I have reversed these dates to make more sense but I have not seen the actual records to verify the facts. Some list Thomas with as many as four wives but the marriage and birth orders don't fit the possible dates. Even though the Thomas Sherwoods are proved related I still have not been able to tie Philip Sherwood to this family with any documentary proof.

1625-Thomas Sherwood is listed

"At Basse's Choice on February 16, 1623-24, were Captain Nathaniel Basse, Samuel Basse, Benjamin Simes, Thomas Sherwood, Benjamin Handclare, William Barnard, John Shelley, Nathaniel Moper, Nathan Gammon, Margaret Giles, Richard Longe, vx Longe, infans Long, Richard Evans, William Newman, John Army, Peter Langden, Henry, Andrew Rawley, Peter ------. Total, twenty."
A "Muster of the inhabitants in Virginia" was taken in February, 1625, and the total number of inhabitants was 1095.

Unfortunately, this particular Thomas Sherwood is listed as "Dead" in Warryscoak, Virginia. 1624-25. [Boddie p. 84]

1634- Thomas Sherwood takes a ship with his wife to the colonies from Ipswich, England on the ship Francis.

1655, Oct 25 - Thomas Sherwood's will is probated in Fairfield, CT. His buried Fairfield, Fairfield, Ct.
