1860 - T. O. P. Terry is 32 years old and had moved to Ashley Co., Arkansas. He was already pretty prosperous having assets of $12000 which was mostly in a number of slaves. His slave schedule lists 13 slaves in what appears to two couples and their children from 1 to 14 years old.

1861-65 - "TOP" Terry enlists in the
Confederate
State Army even at the ripe old age of 33 or 34. He shows up in Co. H,
Wright's
Regiment of the Arkansas Calvary, as a private. He leaves the service
as
a private. This is the same regiment that his brother, John W. Terry
who
is listed as a leutenant. [Index of Arkansas Confederate Soldiers, Vol

1897, June 10 - "Sallie Guise, 12 -year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Guise, stepped off the gallery at the residence of Dr. A. W. Terry last Sunday night, and broke both bones of her left arm between hand and elbow, the fall being about five feet.[Lee p. 47]
1897, July 29 -"Dr. A. W. Terry receive a letter from his sister Miss Lenora Terry, Saturday night last, conveying the sad news of the death of his mother. Mrs. Jane Terry, Denver, Colorado, on Wed. July 21st, 1897. This good lady came with her husband, Mr. To. O. P. Terry, and the above named children from South Carolina in 1859, the family residing in this community until 1881 when they moved to Eureka Springs. Two years ago they moved to faraway Colorado." Mary Vance Norfleet who has the John McDowell Terry bible says that Jane Terry is said to have died on 22 July 1897 at age 75 in Denver, CO. [Norfleet 2/6/03]
1900- "TOP" Terry dies in Denver, Colorado.

1904, Mar 3 - "Sy Sanders, about 21, son of Mr. S. B. Sanders, died yesterday morning from measles and pneumonia. He lived on Dr. A. W. Terry's place." [Lee p.87]
1904, April 28 - Dr. William Terry, born Hamburg, 1865, son of Thomas L. and Mrs. Martha Terry, died in Denver, Colo., April 8th, 1904. Dentist, practiced with his brother, Dr. C. H. Terry, since 1896. Buried in Shreveport, La., his former home. Deceased was a cousin of Mrs. H. A. Harris. [Lee p. 89]
1908, Mar 26 - Mr. R. Y. H. Terry, for many years a a prominent and highly esteemed citizen of this community, died at the home of his son, W. T. Terry, in Lebanon, Tenn., yesterday morning. He leaves one son, W. T., and one daughter, Miss Elsie, both of whom were reised in Hamburg. He also has two nephews here: Walter Terry adn Dr. A. W. Terry He was about 72 years of age. [Lee p. 148]
