I have no other information on this family at this time. The
lists are based on the research of others. The Browning
family members were residents in the Gloucestershire region before
1335 and had been major businessmen, land owners, sheriffs,
members of parliament and hosts to various noblemen over the
years. The name may be spelled as Bruning, Brunyn, Brounyng
as well as Browning.
1656-57 - John Browning came to the colonies with his parents
through the Barbados.
1663- Thomas Browning comes to the colonies with his family bass
1670- 03 February 1670/1, John had 500 acres of land, known as
"Successor" surveyed on forks of the Elk River in MD. [Maryland
Rent Rolls, Book 6, p. 330] This record indicates that John
had to be at least 21 years old in 1670
