North Carolina Land Grant records show that in the early 1780's both old Abraham and old Jacob received 200 and 210 acres of land in consideration of 50 shillings per 100 acres. These were not recorded in Sullivan Co deed books until Aug 9,1787...probably because of the ending of the Revolution and Tennessee becoming a State.
Aug. 9, 1787 NC Land Grant, to Jacob Grubb, 210 acres in Sullivan Co.
May 18, 1811 John Laughlin sold to Abraham Grubb, 24 acres, Sullivan Co.
Aug. 22, 1812 Jacob Grubb sold to Abraham (brother or father???) 25 acres Sullivan Co.
Sep 24, 1812 Jacob Grubb sold to John Thomas, 134 acres in
Sullivan Acres.
(notice the re-occurrence of 134 acres later..this could be a
1/3 share of a 400 acre estate???)
Jan 6, 1814 Abraham sells to Jacob 134 acres, Sullivan Co.
(The legal description appears to be land adjoining some of
Jacob's land)
Jan 6, 1814 Jacob sells to Abraham 134 acres, Sullivan Co.
(This parcel seems to partly adjoin land owned by John Thomas)
Aug 29, 1816 Jacob of Grainger Co. sells to John Thomas 55 acres in Sullivan Co. (undoubtedly Jacob is ending up his Sullivan Co. holdings)
