1887 - Karl Kiesel applies for immigration and states that he was
a resident of Washington State. [immigration application papers]
He
apparently brings most of the family with him and may have come to
Seattle with other German immigrants from Hawaii.

war plus six months" in the Women's Army Corps in Seattle. She
indicates that her civil occupations were "barbers, beauticians and
manicurists. She also states that she is a "widower or widow
without dependents". [US World War II Enlistment
records]
1958, Nov 28 - Gustav W. Kiesel has a death certificate in Seattle,
Washington, age 89 years, born about 1869, father's name is Karl
Kiesel, mother's name is listed as Augusta Fauka which is different
from what we have listed. [Film no. 2033814, Digital GS number
4224593, image number 1847, 2353]
1971 - the following was probably from an obituary in
Seattle.,
"Mrs.
Gustave (Marie) Kiesel , 98, a Washington pioneer and
former resident of Tacoma, died Friday in Seattle. She was
born in Germany moved to Tacoma until 1942, when she moved to
Seattle, Mrs. Kiesel was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs
Anna Hail, and Mrs. Ella Butler, both of the family home
in Seattle, two grandchildren, and two children, and two
great-grandchildren.
