I have no further information on this family.  This area presently is a major tourist destination for Norwegians from Oslo and regions south.  The river affords good fishing and wonderful views of the valley.  It also contains part of Norway's first national park.

He was sheriff and is mentioned for the first time in a letter written on Rindal in Øyer 07.03.1323 He then bought a half ear ball in Rindal from his uncle Bjarne (DN II 149): [Tore-Nygaard 2020]

The listed relatives seem to have stayed in the area for a couple of hundred years.  They may have been involved in farming and logging.  In the early years the river could have provided easy transportation of logs to the south end of Lake Mjøsa at Minnesund, nearly 174 kilometers.  I'm still trying figure out what the title of "Dikter" means or how it is used.  It seems similar in pronunciation to "dictation".  It is possible because he was a "ombudsman for Guttorm Eriksson" that he was probably able to read and write and may have had some legal experience.  He could have given some kinds of legal opinions or persuaded the parties toward a common agreement.  This was a powerful position in these communities.

Although the church in the distance is quite the landmark, this particular church was not built until 1792.  The previous church was probably a stave church such as seen in Lom

Håkon of Hundorp" is hypothetical. The following records are translated from Norwegian in Tore-Nygaard's records.

Tjøstolv Dikter is mentioned in 1329 and 1330, both times as an ombudsman for Guttorm Erikssson and both times he Jorstad Faberg (Jorstad was rightly District Assembly farm in Fåberg) Someone connected to Hundorp is not mentioned. The seal of Tjøstolv shall be kept to the letter from 1330 (DN 7-132)

Three priests in Gudbrandsdal announce that Haakon Thjostolfssön bought from his uncle Bjarne ½ Öresbol in Rindardal and Fjerdingen in Kværnhuset. Being sheriff at the time was an important ombudsman. He has thus been a prominent man in Sørdalen, and one should have expected to find his name several times. It was very common to get the sheriff to arrange farm trades and to set up letters. But we find him only mentioned once more, at Farestad (Forresgtad in Venabygd) where he puts up a letter about an inheritance case that concerned Bø 29.05.1330 (DN VI 136).   [Tore-Nygaard 2020]
