John Harrison came to the colonies with his sister, Rebecca Harrison Terry, wife of Thomas Terry.  Rebecca died of Yellow Fever on the journey across South Carolina along with one or two of her children.  John survives to bring the remaining children.   Thomas Terry travels to Charleston sometime after this on business and meets Nancy Ann McDowell whom he later marries. Apparently John Harrison travels with Thomas and some point and meets another McDowell sister, Susannah McDowell.  Susan and Ann are identified in the will of her brother, John McDowell, a merchant of Charleston whose will helps to prove the relationships.

"My direct ancestor is John Harrison born 14 August 1768 in Yorkshire England. He left England with his sister Nancy Harrison Terry on the Chichester in 1790 for Charleston, South Carolina. He brought his sister to be with her husband Thomas Terry who had been a neighbor of the Harrison family in Yorkshire England. She died during the land trip from Charleston to Greenville County, South Carolina. John had another sister named Margaret who married Solomon Hopkins. Solomon Hopkins lived near the Harrison and Terry families in Yorkshire England. Solomon and his wife left a few years earlier for South Carolina on the Chichester. All these families settled in Greenville County, South Carolina, USA. The Chichester ported in Antrim Ireland before sailing to South Carolina. I believe my John Harrison's father to be William Harrison. I would like to know where in Yorkshire my Harrison family lived. Thanks"

The ship may have been the Chichester but I have not seen a ship manifest or date of arrival.  The ship Chichester was built in 1785 in Itchenor and became a store ship in 1799, finally broken up in 1815.
