Hundorp is a small village in Oppland district on a major highway that is also known as Olaf's Way for a parallel pilgrimage walking path that starts in Oslo and ends in Trondheim at the cathedral burial place of St. Olaf.  It is approximately at the center point of this road. As such there is a major center of information and a rest center for the pilgrims.  There is another road that forks off toward the North Sea following the Gudbrandal river valley for some distance.  This was an important royal district ruled for many years by the relatives of Dale-Gudbrand who had met with Olaf II in 1021. At this time he performed the miracle during the breaking of the local idol which released mice, lizards and worms and lead to the conversion of the many of the present farmers.

Although the church in the distance is quite the landmark, this particular church was not built until 1792.  The previous church was probably a stave church such as seen in Lom

Several of our families lived in the Oppland area for over 400 years. They were active farmers and also involved in local government organizations that reviewed and adjudicated on land issues and other legal problems. There is still a question about why several of the following families has so many deaths in 1330.  My own projection is that some deadly illness struck the area and I believe that the Black Plague came into Norway about this time.
