Although the church in the
distance is quite the landmark, this particular church was not
built until 1792. The previous church was probably a stave
church such as seen in Lom.

Several of our families lived in the Oppland area for over 400 years. They were active farmers and also involved in local government organizations that reviewed and adjudicated on land issues and other legal problems. There is still a question about why several of the following families has so many deaths in 1330. My own projection is that some deadly illness struck the area and I believe that the Black Plague came into Norway about this time.
