Maggie Terry moves in with her daughter, Elsa Wood, in Roscoe,
Texas. Alva Wood operated a dry goods store for years in Roscoe and
Elsa used their home on the main highway as an antique store. In the
evening Alva and Elsa would strip and refinish furniture. Their house
was crowded with four poster beds, old pianos, and other lovingly
restored items. Grandmother Kirkland, when I knew her, was quite old
but mobile and very sharp mentally. She did some of the cooking
activities for the family.
