*Family makeup according to Watson's Royal Families of America

We know little about this family.   We are just in the beginning stages of our research.  We look forward to other information that may relate to this family.

Capt. Jonathan Thing's father came over on one of the first ships to settle in Massachusetts however I have not been able to find him on any ship list to date.

" He may have been the son of his father's unknown first wife.  Jonathan Jr. served on the Grand Jury in 1684.  He was a constable in 1686, town clerk in 1689 and deputy in 1693.  He died from a shot by his own gun when he fell from his horse.  The administration of his estate was granted on 22 Feb 1695/6 to Nicholas Gilman. "  [Watson 71 ]

Jonathan Thing, becomes a member of the militia and probably fought against the Indians.
